We have much to celebrate this summer, including the fact that the number of Longhorns studying abroad has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels and our education abroad programs are gaining momentum for the upcoming year. We are so delighted to be sending our students to and hosting visiting delegations from the far reaches of the world again!
Texas Global is also busy bringing the world to the Forty Acres, in cooperation with our many partners in education worldwide. From May through August, our Global Programs and Innovation unit welcomes nearly 180 fellows, junior faculty, and emerging entrepreneurs to campus, providing educational and professional enrichment opportunities in conjunction with the unique cultural experiences Austin and Texas have to offer.
Additionally, I am pleased to announce that Texas Global has awarded nearly $600,000 in grants since 2020 to support our faculty and academic units in their global engagement endeavors. This year, we launched a new Publication Fund for faculty seeking to publish their works in languages other than English.
